Diverticulum of Kommerell.

چکیده
A case of an 11-months-old girl with vomiting and laryngeal stridor is presented, and in whom a Kommerell diverticulum was demonstrated, which is a rare variant of the incomplete vascular ring. It is well known that the magnetic resonance is the best study to define this malformation. In this patient, it was the cardiac catheterization which allowed to define the structures that constituted the vascular ring. The patient was surgically treated in a successful way. The embryological knowledge of the transformations of the aortic arches offers great assistance in the understanding of all the types of vascular rings.

Saccular Kommerell aneurysm, a potential pitfall on MDCT imaging – A review of imaging features and potential mimics
Saccular Kommerell aneurysm represents a potential pitfall on Multidetector CT (MDCT) imaging, mimicking conditions such as saccular aneurysm of the thoracic aorta, ductus diverticulum and dilated Kommerell diverticulum. Accurate diagnosis of this condition is critical in the management of this potentially fatal condition. This paper reviews the MDCT imaging features of Kommerell aneurysms and ...
متن کاملSuccessful surgical exclusion of rapidly expanding kommerell diverticulum following a total arch replacement for an acute type a aortic dissection.
A 50-year-old man presented with an acute type A aortic dissection with an aberrant right subclavian artery. Emergent total arch replacement with an elephant trunk was performed. Intraoperatively, the origin of the aberrant right subclavian artery could not be resected because it was located too far from the distal arch. After two weeks, the patient became aware of dysphagia. Postoperative comp...
متن کاملVascular ring related to Kommerell diverticula: case report.
Report of a surgical treatment for vascular ring (right aortic arch and the anomalous origin of the left subclavian artery) related to Kommerell diverticulum with resection of the ligamentum arteriosum (ductus arteriosus), suture of the Kommerell diverticulum, and reimplantation of left subclavian artery in the ipsilateral carotid artery through left thoracotomy in a 13-year-old female.
متن کاملSingle Stage Aortic Arch Replacement without Circulatory Arrest.
A 78-year-old man with a Kommerell diverticulum and aberrant right subclavian artery was admitted for thoracic pain and severe malnutrition due to esophageal compression. We performed an atypical surgical procedure including extra-anatomical debranching and direct aortic repair, trying to avoid deep hypothermic circulatory arrest and shorten the cardiopulmonary bypass time.
متن کاملRight Aortic Arch With Kommerell Diverticulum: A Rare Cause of Dysphagia.
IMPORTANCE Dysphagia is a common condition with multiple causes. Fortunately, a thorough evaluation will often lead to a correct diagnosis, even when the cause is a rare entity. A right aortic arch with associated aberrant left subclavian artery is an uncommon anatomical variant. Physicians involved in the management of dysphagia should be aware of vascular anomalies that can cause dysphagia. ...
